TARKWA NSUAEM MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY SUPPORTS AQUACULTURE TRAINEES WITH STARTUP KITSBRC START-UP KITS

As part of efforts to promote sustainable aquaculture and youth entrepreneurship within the municipality, the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly, under the leadership of the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ebenezer Cobbinah, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation and the Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuaem, Hon. Issah Salifu Taylor, has presented startup kits worth thousands of Ghana cedis to aquaculture trainees.

The beneficiaries, comprising both graduates and current participants of the aquaculture training programme, received essential equipment including tarpaulins, scooping nets, tents, and other tools necessary for fish farming operations.

The support forms part of a broader initiative aimed at empowering trainees with the practical resources needed to establish and expand viable aquaculture enterprises, thereby creating sustainable livelihoods and contributing to local economic development.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, officials emphasized the importance of aquaculture as a growing sector with significant potential to enhance food security, generate employment opportunities, and boost income levels within the municipality.
