The Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly has officially commissioned the newly constructed Dompim Market, marking a significant milestone in the Municipality’s efforts to enhance local economic activities and improve trading infrastructure.

The commissioning ceremony brought together key stakeholders, including the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ebenezer Cobbinah; the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Peter Kwasi Wilson; the Municipal Finance Officer, Mr. Kwamena Essifile; the Municipal Environmental Health Director, Mr. Alex Damptey; the Municipal Procurement Director, Mr. Anokye; traditional authorities led by Nana Owua Okuapong XII, Tufohene of Dompim; Assembly Members; and members of the community.

Speaking at the event, the Assembly Member for the Dompim Electoral Area, who also serves as the Presiding Member of the Assembly, expressed appreciation to the Municipal Assembly and all stakeholders whose efforts contributed to the successful completion of the project. He noted that the market would serve as a catalyst for local economic growth, providing a conducive environment for trading and creating improved opportunities for residents.

In his address, Hon. Ebenezer Cobbinah reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to implementing infrastructure projects that promote socio-economic development and improve the living conditions of residents. He further announced plans for the construction of a modern washroom facility at the market to enhance sanitation and convenience for traders and patrons.

Also addressing the gathering, Nana Owua Okuapong XII commended both the Municipal Assembly and the Member of Parliament for their commitment to the development of Dompim. He disclosed that the traditional council has made additional land available to support future development initiatives and expressed optimism that more transformational projects would be undertaken within the community.

The commissioning of the Dompim Market underscores the Assembly’s dedication to modernizing market infrastructure, supporting small-scale enterprises, and creating sustainable economic opportunities across the Municipality.
The market is now fully operational and open to traders and the general public.
