COMMUNITY SPIRIT SHINES AT TAKWA MUNICIPAL CEMETERY CLEANUP

A major environmental initiative spearheaded by the Environmental Department of the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly under the leadership of Mr. Alex Damptey has recorded great success as churches, organizations, opinion leaders, and individuals within the municipality joined hands to weed and clean the Takwa Municipal Cemetery.

The clean-up exercise, aimed at maintaining the cemetery, described by many as “our final home”, saw volunteers actively weeding and clearing the premises to improve its cleanliness and general appearance. Community members worked collectively and demonstrated a strong sense of community responsibility throughout the exercise.

Special appreciation was extended to former Assembly Member for the Kwabedu Electoral Area, Hon. Paa Kwesi Epharim, for mobilizing a large number of people and motivating others to actively participate and give off their best during the exercise.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Honorable Ebenezer Cobbinah, on behalf of the Assembly, expressed profound gratitude to all churches, the Muslim community, organizations, and individuals who availed themselves for the successful cleanup exercise.

According to him, the cemetery is a shared public facility that requires collective responsibility and regular maintenance, rather than relying solely on periodic Assembly-led exercises. He therefore encouraged residents and community groups to voluntarily organize routine clean-up activities to help preserve the dignity and cleanliness of the cemetery at all times.

The Assembly once again commended all participants for their commitment, unity, and dedication towards environmental cleanliness and community development.
