The Western Regional Coordinating Council (WRCC) on Monday, 31st August 2026, paid a working visit to the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly as part of its performance monitoring exercise aimed at assessing the progress and effectiveness of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) across the Western Region.
The monitoring team was led by the Regional Coordinating Director of the WRCC, Ms. Rachel Fosua Sarpong, and comprised the Regional Budget Analyst, Assistant Development Planning Officer, and Regional Human Resource Manager.
The team engaged Management and key staff of the Assembly to assess the Municipality’s performance against the indicators of the District Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT).
As part of the exercise, the team reviewed relevant documents, records and other supporting evidence to verify the Assembly’s compliance with the prescribed requirements and assess its progress in meeting the various performance indicators.

At the end of the assessment, the WRCC team provided valuable feedback on the Assembly’s performance and highlighted areas requiring further attention and improvement. Management and staff were encouraged to take the necessary measures to address the identified gaps and further strengthen the Assembly’s institutional performance and service delivery.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ebenezer Cobbinah, expressed his appreciation to the WRCC team for the visit, guidance and constructive feedback provided during the exercise.

He assured the team that the recommendations and observations made would be given the necessary attention, and that Management would work with staff to address the identified areas for improvement and enhance the Assembly’s overall performance.
