The Social Welfare Unit embarked on two radio social education programme on destitute children begging on Tarkwa street at the Owass 107.3Fm and Sompa 101.1 Fm station from 13th to 15th May 2025. The officers discussed the rising number of street children in Tarkwa and shared several recommendations to tackle the problem. The officers also used the opportunity to educate the public on the various services / activities of the department (hospital welfare, prison’s aftercare, case management, justice administration etc.) and made available to the listeners / public the hotlines dedicated to the vulnerable and marginalized by the department.
