On Wednesday, August 28, 2024, Assembly Members for Tarkwa-Nsuaem gathered for the second ordinary meeting of the first session of the ninth Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly at the Assembly Hall in Ahwetieso. The meeting focused on discussing the Draft 2024 Revised Composite Budget and the 2024 Annual Action Plan.
In his address, Hon. Benjamin Kessie, Municipal Chief Executive, commended the new Assembly Members for their dedication to improving the lives of the residents in the municipality. He also congratulated the assembly staff on winning the Best Audit Committee (MMDA) category award in 2023.
Hon. Kessie announced that the first consignment of earth-moving machines received under the Central Government’s District Road Improvement Project (DRIP) would enhance the Assembly’s efforts to maintain and reshape roads in the municipality, particularly feeder roads.
Hon. George Mireku Duker, Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency and Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, apologized for his limited engagement in previous meetings due to representing TNMA in Accra and attending to other critical issues. He congratulated the Assembly on the prestigious National Award received and commended the peaceful atmosphere amongst members. He encouraged them to continue upholding democratic values of governance.
