The Tarkwa –Nsuaem Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Benjamin Kessie together with the Chief of Tamso, Nana Kwame Yeboah on Wednesday, 17th November, 2021 cut sod to commence the construction of a befitting police station for the people of Tamso.
The project is initiated and being financed by some benevolent individual within the community with the support of Tarkwa- Nsuaem Municipal Assembly. The project is intended to improve the security situation of the area when completed.
In a short ceremony to break the grounds, Hon. Kessie assured the people of the Assembly’s readiness to support this important project but urged them to also come on board to make this call happen.
He revealed that safety for the people is one of the Assembly’s priorities, hence the need to make the police more visible and easily accessible.
Hon. Benjamin Kessie added that no matter how trained and prepared the police is, they will need people’s engagement to fulfill their common aim which is ‘safety for the people’.
He said again that “the best security is for the society to come together and help themselves. You can have the best private security in your house but if you are not each other’s keeper then you are not secured”.
“As the project is ongoing, we will make sure to come in strongly whenever we are supposed to and make sure this project is finished on time and commissioned in our tenure”. Hon. MCE said this in his remarks.
He therefore called on authorities not to use their position to interrupt the work of the police because they contributed to the construction of the station.
The Assembly Member for the area, Hon. Ibrahim Diallo also admonished the inhabitants to involve themselves in the construction for a better and secured community.
