Hon. Benjamin Kessie, Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Chief Executive has condemned the action of Subrisu (a sub-community at Benso) community members against Golden Star Mining Resources Company, during his visit with a team of security personnel on Monday, 20th March 2023.
He inspected the scenes while he sympathized with the company and urged them to cooperate with the security agency to bring the perpetrators to book.
Hon. Kessie also charged the police and other security agencies to do their best to fish out the recalcitrant for proper punishment.
It will be recalled that on Thursday 16th March 2023, a conflict ensued between the people of Subrisu and Golden star Mining Resources Company.
According to reports, the community carried out their mining activities at IZONE, a concession of Golden Star company, in an attempt to stop them, one person lost his life while trying to prevent the police from doing their work.
