As part of the Assembly’s developmental responsibility, Hon. George Mireku Duker, Member of Parliament(MP) for Tarkwa Nsuaem Constituency who is also the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources together with the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Benjamin Kessie on Wednesday, 13th October, 2021 handed over a sixteen (16) seater water closet facility to Fiaseman Senior High School.
Hon. Kessie in his speech urged the school to uphold its maintenance culture. He complimented the school for living up to expectation as a royal school. He added that Fiasec has maintained discipline and avoided being in the news for bad reasons and for that respects the school. He also praised the school for their outstanding performance especially in athletics.
At the ceremony, the MP also said his office is committed to expanding the school’s facilities such as dormitories, classrooms and among others to ease congestion in the school.
He emphasized that the government is dedicated to addressing challenges of admissions to tertiary institutions. The government shall continue to provide subsidies for tertiary education and ensure that the number of student scholarships are increased to cover education that are technically inclined outside the country.
He concluded his speech by calling on all Ghanaians to be involved in the fight against mining on river bodies and in the forests.
