Hon. Benjamin Kessie, Municipal Chief Executive for the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly has made an appeal to M/S Gabriel Couto-Rango Consortium, a Construction Company working on the Tarkwa-Agona Nkwanta stretch of the Highway road to ensure quality work as desired by residents in the Municipality.
He made the remarks on Tuesday, 21st June 2022, during his visit to the site with a team of engineers and some heads of departments to ascertain the progress of work.
He added, that commuters and residents in the area were excited over the Contractor returned on site to recommence work. They have high expectations that the project will be completed within the 24 months (August 2024) scheduled in order to give a facelift to the town and ease their travelling challenges.
The Municipal Chief Executive further assured the Contractor of maximum corporation of all stakeholders and the assembly readiness to offer any such support within it’s capacity as may be needed.
According to Mr. Anthonio Aguiar, Lab Manager for M/S Gabriel Couto, the company has necessary information, workforce and capacity required to help them execute the project at the desired quality. He said, major drainage improvements, street lights and walkways would be provided in the towns and communities along the stretch.
In a similar development, Hon. Kessie also inspected the state of the Tarkwa Banso – Essousu road. He was unhappy about the bad condition of the road.
The MCE however, assured the people that the road would be made motorable and accessibile as soon as possible through an immediate intervention between the Municipal Assembly and the Ghana Manganese Company (GMC) Limited.
