A disinfection exercise was carried out on August 8, 2024, at the Ahwetieso office complex and the staff bungalows on Government Hill behind the University of Mines and Technology in Tarkwa. The exercise intended to provide a clean and hygienic environment for employees. The methods included spraying disinfectants on surfaces, cleaning restrooms, toilets, and kitchens, disinfecting high-touch areas, and spraying disinfectants on flowers and plants. The exercise included offices, conference halls, living rooms, kitchens, baths, bedrooms, and outdoor areas. One of the challenges was the lack of a truck for logistics and officers. To maintain a clean environment, regular cleaning and disinfection are recommended, as is staff education on personal hygiene and environmental cleanliness. The exercise was effective, and the staff bungalow now has a clean and sanitary environment.
