ANNOUNCEMENT OF TAKEOVER OF TNA SPORTS STADIUM MANAGEMENT FROM NATIONAL SPORTS AUTHORITY

Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly (TNMA) has announced its takeover of the TNA Sports Stadium’s management from the National Sports Authority (NSA). This move aims to address the NSA’s mismanagement and ensure the stadium’s proper care and maintenance for the community.

At a recent press conference, Hon. Benjamin Kessie, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) expressed gratitude to the Member of Parliament who doubles as the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. George Mireku Duker, for successfully lobbying Goldfields Foundation to reconstruct the Tarkwa and Aboso park into a world-class standard.

To oversee the stadium’s management until a full operational plan is implemented, an interim management committee has been established. The committee comprises Mr. James Essilfie (Chairman) who will be working with Mrs. Amanda Adjei (assembly representative), Hon. Roslyn Armoh, Mr. James Bawaah, Mr. Ebenezer Aidoo.

The committee will manage day-to-day activities from September 19 to October 31, 2024, and submit weekly reports to the assembly every Monday. Notably, they are prohibited from renting, subletting, or assigning any aspect of the stadium without the assembly’s approval.

This takeover demonstrates TNMA’s commitment to transparency and accountability, ensuring the stadium’s effective management and maintenance for the community’s benefit
