On Thursday, 11th April 2023, Hon. Benjamin Kessie, Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Chief Executive continued his routine community visit to Kyekyewere and Nkwanta communities.The visit forms part of the MCE’s plans to engage with the citizens as key stakeholders in the development process.
Municipal Co-ordinating Director, Mr. Boffour Ahmed Haruna, Presiding Member, Hon. Emmanuel Gado, some Heads of Department and staff of the assembly constituted the MCE’s team on the visitation.
Hon. Gado applauded teachers of both communities for their outstanding performances.
He further took terms to explain the Local Governance decentralization concept as in accordance with the Local Governance Act 2016 (Act 936), and the 1992 constitution of the republic of Ghana.
The Chiefs of Kyekyewere and Nkwanta, Nana Assaa Kofi III and Nana Bossor II respectively, engaged Hon. Kessie with their challenges.
Members of the communities were also allowed at public forums to air their views on issues of development challenges affecting them.Addressing their concerns, Hon. Benjamin Kessie assured them of the Assembly’s commitment to dealing with their challenges as soon as possible.
He also advised the youth involved in small scale mining, to mine responsibly.
