COMMERCIAL TRANSPORT DRIVERS CAUTIONED AGAINST UNAPPROVED LORRY FARES

Hon. Benjamin Kessie, the Municipal Chief Executive of Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly, has cautioned commercial transport drivers against unapproved lorry fares.

According to him, until an official communique is issued, no one is permitted to take the new fares.

"No one has the right to take the new lorry fare; there's been an arrangement for an increment, but it hasn't been approved yet, so any driver who takes the new charges will be dealt with."

"You must report drivers who charge unapproved fares to authorities to be sanctioned appropriately."

"No one should pay the new fare until a meeting is held with GPRTU leadership."

This caution followed when he was addressing community members at Badukrom/Wangarakrom and Abonpuneso communities during his routine community visitations on Thursday, April 18, 2024, with the Municipal Coordinating Director, Presiding Member, Heads of Department, and staff of the Assembly.

In his speech, the Presiding Member, Hon. Joseph Kwofie, explained the purpose of their visit and urged them to support the Assembly member to achieve their common goals.
