The inaugural ceremony of the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly started at 2:00pm, with all elected appointed members present.
The ceremony was chaired by Mr. Joseph Ankomaning who is currently the president of Redeemer College of Health and the CEO of Redeemer Group of Companies.
The Hon. Municipal Chief Executive gave the welcome address. In his address, he welcomed all prospective Assembly Members and other dignitaries present and also wished the immediate past Assembly Members well in their various endeavors, as they exit their term of office. He urged the Assembly Members to build a team devoid of all political allegiance to be able to attain goals together.
In attendance were the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Benito Owusu Bioh, Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal, Hon. Mireku Duker, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Gilbert Ken Asmah, the Municipal High Court Judge, His Lordship Justice John Ekow Mensah and the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Isaac Kwakye. The Municipal Security Council was also present among other stakeholders of the Municipality.
The welcome address was delivered by the Municipal Chief Executive of Tarkwa-Nsuaem, Hon. Gilbert Ken Asmah. The Municipal Coordinating Director conducted a roll call of the Assembly members of which all were present. His Lordship the Municipal High Court Judge, Justice Ekow Mensah administered the oaths of office, allegiance and secrecy to all members. Nana Atobrah II, acting President of the Traditional Council and the Member of Parliament, Hon, Mireku Duker took turns to address the house respectively. The inauguration was performed by Hon. Benito Owusu Bioh, the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources on behalf of H.E the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and officially declared the 8th Assembly of the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly duly inaugurated.
