On Wednesday 12th January 2022, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Tarkwa Nsuaem, Hon. Benjamin Kessie disclosed plans to award deserving hard workers in the Municipality.
The award according to Hon. Kessie will be done yearly, starting this year to motivate those who impact positively to the development of the municipality.
All category of workers including Journalists, Business Operators, Chiefs, Politicians, among others who have made significant contribution through hard work in their various endeavors will be identified and honoured.
The MCE added, that a date for the maiden edition will soon be fixed after a Committee has been constituted and done a thorough deliberation on the initiative.
Explaining further, Hon. Benjamin Kessie said a neutral body will be set to develop a criteria for the process which will allow for transparent and fair nomination of the deserving persons. “We want people who are doing the most for the Municipality to be identified and recognized”, he emphasized.
Since his assumption into office, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) has instituted several initiatives aimed at recognizing the contributions made by stakeholders in the area of development and strengthening their relationship with the Municipal Assembly.
The initiative will among other things motivate people working in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality to give out their best for accelerated development.
On the issue of the construction of the Tarkwa-Takoradi Highway road from Tarkwa Township to the Apemanim Community, Hon. Kessie said, the contractors have already returned to commenced work after the Christmas break.
The MCE revealed this in an interview with Owass FM, a private radio station in Tarkwa.
