Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly in the Western region held its Annual Press Soiree on Thursday 16th December, 2021 held at the Municipality Assembly’s Conference Hall.
Stating the purpose for the event, Mr. Frank Ernest Odro explained that, the Assembly initiated the Annual Press Soiree to bring media personnel in the Municipality together to appreciate and further deepen the cordial working relationship between them and Assembly.
It also serves as a platform for the Municipal Chief Executive to recall developmental projects, programmes and activities undertaken by the Assembly in the period under review, and also respond to questions of concerned from the public through the Media.
Speaking on behalf of the President of the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Media Association, Mr. Thomas Tetteh, a Journalist with Dynamite 88.9fm in Tarkwa, thanked the Municpal Chief Executive and the Assembly for recognizing the work of the Media in the Municipality. He assured the Assembly of a good relationship that will continue to exist between both.
Addressing the audience, Hon. Benjamin Kessie, Municipal Chief Executive for the Assembly extended regards on behalf of H.E the President of the Republic of Ghana and the Member of Parliament for the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency, Hon. George Meriku Duker to the good people of the Municipality and all other stakeholders.
He thanked everyone for their support during the year under review, but noted there was the need to forgive one another on whatever difference that might have existed in the course of working together.
He further expressed his appreciations to the Hon. Assembly Members, the Chiefs and people of the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality as well as the private development partners for their support during the period.
Hon. Benjamin Kessie also commended the Media for their good works in the Municipality. He however, urged them to always ensure a fair reportage and criticize constructively in order to further strengthen the Assembly and the Media relationship.
