The Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly, through the Business Resource Centre, on Wednesday 12th November 2025, presented start-up kits to 46 beneficiaries under the Business in a Box (BizBox) Project. The BizBox initiative, a partnership between the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA) and the Mastercard Foundation, aims to create dignified and fulfilling jobs for young people across Ghana, with a special focus on women and Persons with Disabilities to reduce unemployment.
During the ceremony, the President of the Association of Small-Scale Industries, Madam Juliana Amanor encouraged the beneficiaries with her personal experience of 35 years in entrepreneurship. She advised them to work hard, remain resilient, and strive to become successful in their own businesses.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ebenezer Cobbinah, expressed joy for the president’s initiative to empower the youth through the provision of these tools. He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the kits to support their livelihoods and contribute to reducing unemployment in the municipality. He also thanked the President H.E. John Dramani Mahama, the Member of Parliament Hon. Issah Salifu Taylor, GEA, and the Mastercard Foundation for their collaborative effort.
The event ended with a call from Madam Annor for more toolkits to support other who are interested in catering, soapmaking, and yoghurt production. Present at the ceremony were Heads of Departments, Assembly members, the media, and some clergy from the municipality.
