The Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly, led by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Ebenezer Cobbinah, together with other government officials of the Assembly on Wednesday 9th September 2026 has engaged residents of Nyaso, Nyaso Nkran and Israel communities in the Municipality.
The engagement, which forms part of the Assembly’s structured community outreach programme, enabled the MCE to share the Assembly’s development policies and programmes, while also listening to traditional leaders and residents on their challenges and contributions towards the development of the Municipality.
Nana Esson Kuma II, Chief of Nyaso, expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Municipal Assembly and outlined key challenges that need immediate attention. These include reshaping of their roads, completion of an abandoned school block started by former Independent Candidate, Hon. Joy Joycelyn Andoh, and construction of a mechanized borehole, as access to potable drinking water remains a major problem for the community.
Nana Mensah III, Chief of Nkran, noted that Nyaso Nkran is expanding rapidly but lacks electricity extension. He also appealed for renovation of the Nkran school building and reshaping of their roads.
The Chief and elders of Israel, another community within the electoral area, also outlined major challenges such as lack of teachers’ accommodation, lack of mechanized boreholes, and the need for solar lights. They also made a passionate appeal for the construction of a Community Information Centre.
Responding to their concerns, Hon. Ebenezer Cobbinah assured the communities of the Assembly’s commitment to addressing their challenges.
On roads, he disclosed that the Assembly has secured road construction materials from mining companies operating in the Municipality and called on Nananom to collaborate with the Assembly to facilitate the reshaping exercise.
He added that the Assembly has budgeted to procure electricity poles and has the capacity to construct mechanized boreholes in all the affected communities.
