The Tarkwa Business Resource Centre (BRC) has organized a three-day Technical and Employable Skills Training programme to equip residents with practical skills in fruit juice processing and entrepreneurship.

The training, held from 18th to 20th August 2026 at the Pentecost Church, Nsuaem, was funded by the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA). A total of 39 participants, comprising 38 females and one male, took part in the programme.

The training aimed to provide participants with technical knowledge in fruit juice processing while exposing them to the market prospects and opportunities within the fruit juice industry.

Participants were taken through the preparation of various fruit-based beverages, including classic beetroot, watermelon, pineapple and orange juices. The training also covered the health benefits of fruit juices, the importance of venturing into fruit juice processing, value addition and marketing.

The sessions combined presentations, practical demonstrations, group work and experience sharing, providing participants with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on exposure. Participants demonstrated strong enthusiasm throughout the programme and contributed real-life experiences to enhance understanding of the concepts taught.
