The Environmental Health Unit has undertaken public cleansing services to maintain clean environment within the municipality. This extended to all facilities used by the general public e.g. the lorry parks, the markets, streets and the drains. The unit has also partnered the respective Assembly members in the various electoral areas to undertake regular cleanup exercises to desilt the storm drains and other minor drains and gutters to rid off the silt and filth in and around the communities. These exercises have therefore reduced the insanitary conditions, vector breeding and physical hazards of flooding. In all ninety one (91) clean up exercises were organized in the course of the of the year 2022. These has helped to improved sanitation in the municipality.
