The Municipal Chief Executive for Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly, Honorable Benjamin Kessie on January 5th, 2023, at the Cheque Presentation Ceremony of Gold Fields Ghana Foundation Scholarship Programme, held at the Akoon Club House-Tarkwa, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Gold Fields Ghana Foundation for their Scholarship Scheme which is given to tertiary students as one of their social responsibilities.
The Municipal Chief Executive mentioned that Gold Fields as a Mining Company must be sustained and the social responsibilities, they play are a major key factor and must be applauded for that reason the company must be sustained without interruption.
He also challenged the students who are beneficiaries to study hard but concentrate on being disciplined students of high moral standards wherever they find themselves. He strongly believes that well-shaped students will be problem solvers in society and benefit Ghana as a whole.
Honorable Kessie went further to appeal to Gold Fields Ghana Limited to help the fight against illegal Mining by granting more of their concessions for Small Scale Mining which through the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources is providing jobs for many.
The Municipal Chief Executive on behalf of the foundation presented a cheque of GH₵779,583.50 for the 325 students in the selected institutions.
