Big Clean-Up in Tarkwa Nsuaem
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Ebenezer Cobbinah led a successful refuse evacuation at Kwabadu, Boobobo, and Tamso on Sunday, Nov 23, 2025, Part of his mission to tackle poor sanitation and boost public health in the municipality. Skip containers and trucks were deployed, targeting long-standing dumps that posed health risks.
The Municipal Environmental Health Officer, Mr. Alex Damptey, emphasized their commitment to complying with the President’s directive to enforce sanitation by-laws.
Some key initiatives include:
– Waste Evacuation: Removing heaped waste and transporting it to the final disposal site in Aboso
– Sanitation Enforcement: Intensifying enforcement of sanitation by-laws, with punitive actions for defaulters
– Community Engagement: Educating residents on proper waste disposal and encouraging participation in clean-up exercises
The assembly is working to maintain a clean and healthy environment, and residents are being urged to support these efforts.
