The Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly (TNMA) has emerged as the top-performing MMDA in the Western Region in the 2025 Public Financial Management Compliance League Table (PFMCLT).
According to the 3rd Edition of the PFMCLT report for Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies in Ghana, TNMA scored 87.30% to secure the 1st position in the Western Region. This is an improvement from its 3rd place ranking in 2024.
The PFMCLT is an annual assessment that measures compliance of MMDAs with public financial management laws, transparency, accountability, and prudent resource management. The 2025 report is funded by the European Union and implemented by the Centre for Local Governance Advocacy (CLGA).
Describing the feat, Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Ebenezer Cobbinah said the ranking is:
”A testament to good governance, transparency and prudent management, building trust and delivering development.”
The Assembly noted that the achievement reflects its commitment to ensuring that public funds are managed effectively for the benefit of the people of Tarkwa Nsuaem.
The improved regional ranking is expected to strengthen confidence in the Assembly’s financial system and attract more development support to the mining municipality.
