The Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly, in collaboration with the local Christian and Muslim communities, observed the 2026 National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving on Wednesday, 1st July 2026, at the Church of Pentecost, Tarkwa N’Aboso.
The event, held under the national theme “Resetting Our Values to Build the Ghana We Want,” brought together the Municipal Chief Executive, staff of the Assembly, Nananom, Assembly Members, school representatives, members of various Christian councils, the Muslim community, associations, and residents of the Municipality.
The National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving, instituted by President John Dramani Mahama, is observed annually on 1st July as a platform for spiritual renewal, reflection, and the promotion of national unity. The second edition of the observance sought to encourage citizens to reflect on Ghana’s journey, abandon negative attitudes and practices, and renew their commitment to values such as discipline, unity, patriotism, and hope.
The prayer service featured scripture readings, praise and worship, as well as intercessory prayers for the President, the nation, and the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality. Special prayers were also offered for the continued peace, security, stability, and prosperity of Ghana.
The observance reaffirmed the importance of faith, unity, and collective responsibility in building a peaceful and prosperous Ghana, while encouraging citizens to play their part in shaping the Ghana they desire.
