TARKWA NSUAEM MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY ELECTS NEW PRESIDING MEMBER

The Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly has successfully elected a new Presiding Member following a Special Meeting held on Tuesday, 24th February 2026.

The meeting was convened to elect a new Presiding Member after the tenure of the outgoing office holder, Hon. Joseph Kwofie, came to an end. Two Assembly Members filed nominations to contest the position: Hon. Joseph Kwofie, former Presiding Member and Assembly Member for the Tarkwa Banso Electoral Area, and Hon. Ebenezer Kwabena Yeboah, Assembly Member for the Dompim Electoral Area.

The election process was conducted by the Electoral Commission. Out of the 45 Assembly Members, 43 were present and participated in the voting process. At the end of the exercise, Hon. Ebenezer Kwabena Yeboah secured victory with 32 votes.

Following the declaration of results, Hon. Ebenezer Kwabena Yeboah was officially sworn into office by the Municipal High Court Judge. In his acceptance remarks, he expressed heartfelt appreciation to Assembly Members for their confidence and support. He also extended gratitude to the former Presiding Member for his service and contributions to the Assembly.

Hon. Ebenezer Kwabena Yeboah further pledged his commitment to advancing the development agenda of the Assembly and working collaboratively with members to promote progress across the municipality.
