ONE DAY ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP

On September 1, 2025, the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftancy and Religious Affairs (MLGCRA), in collaboration with the Office of the Head of Local Government Service (OHLGS), organized a one-day training program for 61 selected Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs), including Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly.

The training aimed to improve the Assembly’s compliance and performance by enhancing staff competencies, strategies, processes, and outcomes. Specifically, the program focused on identifying key compliance indicators of Ghana’s local governance, particularly the District Assembly Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT), and appreciating their importance as an organizational responsibility.

Facilitated by Mr. Frederick Oduro from the Institute of Local Government Studies, the training covered corporate governance and management in District Assemblies, as well as compliance requirements in DPAT. Participants included Heads of Departments/Units, Executive Committee Members, and the Municipal Chief Executive.

This capacity-building initiative is expected to equip the Assembly with the necessary skills and knowledge to enhance its performance and contribute to the development of the municipality.
