The Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly on Saturday, 6th December 2025, joined the nationwide observance of National Sanitation Day, with activities held at the Tarkwa Main Station. The event was led by Hon. Issah Salifu Taylor (Member of Parliament), Hon. Ebenezer Cobbinah (Municipal Chief Executive), Mr. Peter Kwasi Wilson (Municipal Coordinating Director) and Mr. Alex Damptey (Municipal Health Officer).
Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Issah Salifu Taylor emphasized the importance of making sanitation a daily practice, noting that “it is crucial we become conscious of why sanitation should be a daily habit.” He also assured residents of plans to construct a link road from Bogoso Junction to UMaT Basic School to improve connectivity and support local development.
As part of the day’s activities, refuse at the Tarkwa Main Station was evacuated to enhance cleanliness in the area. The Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Peter Kwasi Wilson, encouraged residents to use dustbins and avoid littering, while the Municipal Health Officer, Mr. Alex Damptey, called on the public to continue participating in National Sanitation Day to promote a healthier environment.
The Municipal Assembly extends its appreciation to all who took part and urges the entire community to keep supporting efforts to maintain a clean and healthy Tarkwa.
