Ms. Fortune Samevi is a young entrepreneur, a fashion designer and owner of FFD Fashion Centre located in Cyanide, Tarkwa, within the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipaility. A team from Tarkwa Business Resource Center under Ghana Enterprises Agency in the month of July, paid a working visit to assess the impact of GEA/MASTERCARD Foundation Business Project on her business growth and personal development.
Ms. Fortune enrolled as a Skilled craft person to train five apprentices under the project. She also received capacity building on “how to grow your business”, where she was taken through financial literacy customer relations and basic kaizen skills.
She indicated that the interventions received has impacted positively on the business especially with increase in sales from GHS 800.00 to 1,500.00 bi-weekly.
Additionally, her financial and customer relations have significantly improved.
- MAVIS OPOKU – Marvel Light Kreations
In an effort to promote the growth and development of micro, small and medium Enterprises within Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality, the Business Resource Centre team under Ghana Enterprises Agency visited Marvel Light Kreations owned by Ms Mavis Opoku at lowcost Tarkwa. The visit was to assess the progress made as a result of intervention given her in 2024.
Indeed, she has well utilized the opportunities given to improve her operations. Development areas identified includes: improvement in record keeping, improvement in workshop layout and waste reduction as a result of kaizen training. Increase in clientele base from an average of 25 to 40 and to boost in production capacity from 600 to 1000 units.
