DATA COLLECTION – 1ST QUARTER 2026

The main activity of the department is data collection. Below is the data sourced from departments such as MTTD, GNFS and NADMO.
At the end of the 1st quarter, the accident data indicated a moderate frequency but relatively high severity of road traffic crashes during the reporting period. While 52 accidents were reported, the occurrence of 28 injuries and 16 deaths highlighted a substantial public safety concern.

Again, From the 1st quarter analysis, fire outbreaks were by far the most prevalent disaster, accounting for nearly half of all recorded incidents.
They were widespread, affecting five distinct locations namely; Cyanide, Simpa, Dompim, Tamso and Nsuta.

NADMO recorded the following;

Fire Outbreaks: 8 occurrences (47.1% of total disasters)

Rainstorms: 4 occurrences (23.5% of total disasters)

Car Accidents: 3 occurrences (17.6% of total disasters)

Cave-ins: 2 occurrences (11.8% of total disasters)
