TARKWA NSUAEM MCE SUPPORTS RAMADAN FASTING

“Alms giving and fasting are stronger and more effective barriers that will keep believers away from hell fire, says the Holy prophet”

In line with this objective, The President’s representative in Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality, Hon Gilbert Ken Asmah on Friday, May 25th joined the Muslim fraternity in the Municipality at the Tarkwa central mosque to perform *JUMMAH* prayers.

The Municipal Chief Executive was accompanied by party sympathizers and a team from the Assembly to grace the special and sacred occasion. As part of the program, Hon Asmah donated 20 bags of perfumed rice, 5 bags of sugar, 8 cartons of milk, boxes of tea bag and a cash donation in addition.

In a short media briefing, the MCE explained that the gesture was in support of the Ramadan fasting period; he explained further that the donation was to show appreciation for the numerous cooperation and prayers received from the Muslim fraternity towards the developmental drive in the Municipality, we are all partners in development, your views, comments and contributions have been very beneficial towards the economic growth and peaceful coexistence in Tarkwa-Nsuaem and we must all be proud of it, he observed.

The Municipal Chief Imam, Alhaji Imam Abdallah who received the items thanked the MCE and commended him to be steadfast and bold in the execution of his duties and that he had their support so long as he was on the right path towards the development of the Municipality, he mentioned that Allah shall continue to guide and protect he and his team at all times, whilst he asked for strength and blessings from Allah in his daily activities.

Alhaji Yushaw, Deputy Municipal Chief Imam explained that “Ramadan is the month of giving and mercy and in it Allah blesses the believers with forgiveness who are saved from inequities”. Therefore, whoever is merciful and Charitable during Ramadan period receives abundant blessings. He noted that Allah will be even more merciful and bestow upon him or her countless bounties and blessings, combining fasting and charity will lead to one’s gaining salvation.

The practice of Ramadan fast is intended to help teach Muslims self discipline and generosity; the practice is also a way of giving the body rest, cleansing both physically and spiritually, sharpening our collective sense of self-restraint. He said.
