The Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) of Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly led by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Benjamin Kessie on May 06, 2021 around 03:30 pm seized (2) two JCB Excavators at Dompim-Pepesa and towed the machines to the Assembly’s premises at Ahwetieso. The registration numbers of the seized excavators are as follows:
- WR 2746-18
- The second one however had no number plate attached but with inscription of “A.5.R.P.S” in red paint
Following the directives by Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor, The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources on his recent tour to the Western Region on April 27, 2021 reiterated that all machines found to have been involved in illegal mining along the “REDZONE AREAS” thus Water Bodies and Forest Reserves must be removed or seized before April 30, 2021.
In view of the above, it is being announced for the information to the General Public to strictly adhere to the aforementioned warnings by the Hon. Minister.
We are therefore inviting information from the general public regarding the seized excavators as well as illegal miners at the “Red Zone Areas” to contact the Assembly as a matter of extreme importance.
