The annual Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for final year students in Junior High Schools is here once more. It is on this background that I, Gilbert Ken Asmah, Municipal Chief Executive for Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality wish all candidates sitting for this year`s BECE the best of luck in their examinations.
In all humility I would want to use this opportunity to draw the attention of parents and teachers to motivate and support the candidates financially and spiritually throughout this five day journey.
I am highly optimistic that you have prepared yourselves very well to meet the task ahead of you. It is my prayer and hope that the good Lord will let his favour and strength shine upon you. Fear not for victory is yours already; God shall protect, guide and grant you retentive memory as you journey through this week of examination.
My piece of advice to all the candidates is that, they should do everything possible to desist from all forms of examination malpractices and practices which do not conform to the doctrines and principles of the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) which could affect their educational fortunes.
I will also appeal to the invigilators to be vigilant and highly professional in the execution of their duties, they must eschew all forms of intimidation and unnecessary yelling in the examination halls.
While commending the President, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo for government’s maiden interventions instituted to absorb the BECE registration fee.
On behalf of the President of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency, Hon George Mireku Duker, my good self and the the New Patriotic Party I wish you the best of luck and may God richly bless you.
Hon GILBERT KEN ASMAH,
MUNICIPAL CHIEF EXECUTIVE
