Hon. Benjamin Kessie, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly will tomorrow Monday 24th January, 2022 visit victims of the Appiatse Community explosion accident at the Tarkwa Government Hospital.
The Appiatse explosion tragic incident occurred on Thursday 20th January, 2022 when a Tanker carrying dynamite from Western region to the Chirano Gold Mining Company Ltd. in the Western North region collided with a Motor Tricycle at the Appiatse Community near Bogoso in the Prestea-Huni-Valley Municipality.
Reports indicate, that as at Friday 21st January,2022, about 13 people have died while many others admitted at hospitals in Bogoso and Tarkwa sustained various degree of injuries, and the entire community almost destroyed completely.
Hon. Benjamin Kessie and the Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency and deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. George Meriku Duker were among H.E the Vice President of the Republic entourage to visit the accident scene on Friday 23rd January, 2022 to express their condolences to the bereaved families and give support to the surviving victims as well as members of the Community.
